MasTec Ltd has announced the distribution of a very broad range of rugged, tough and industry specific tablets and handhelds.
MasTec recently signed contracts to distribute the US-based DAP technology tablet, handheld computer and vehicle mount computer ranges in New Zealand.
The DAP products spec extends from IP54, IP65 and IP67 extremely rugged tablets and handhelds.
Most tablet models run Microsoft’s Windows 7 or 8 which is a major advantage for enterprise computing. New releases include Android for Google Centric business and very rugged smartphone.
End users will know if they need these types of devices, sometimes having experienced failures of Personal Tablets in a rugged environment.
DAP invented the first tablet many years ago and has spent time honing its technical manufacturing skills to build its present tough range.
MasTec was formed in 1989 to introduce and integrate new technology and engineering methods into New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific. The company absorbed Small World Systems in 1993 and Smart Works in 2000, which extended its reach into embedded, gauging, transducer, quality assurance and process control.
