The MCL 24V DC drives are used in conjunction with a selection of control cards in which each has a range of inbuilt functions that can be set up manually by selecting various switches on the card.

MCL keeps two standard control cards in stock. One type of card offers a range of standard control functions with no additional input other than 24V DC power. Should the application demand, this control card can also be utilised in more complex control options such as when PLC control logic is used. The other control card option has standard inbuilt logic and can be used to set up a conveyor for zero pressure accumulation of product with no other external control required.

For manual control functions, two way switches are provided to select a range of options. These include direction of rotation; high or low speed settings (a rotary switch further allows for up to 10 speed selections within both high and low setting); internal/external depending on whether the speed is to be controlled via the before mentioned method or via PLC; and manual or auto to select how the overload function is controlled.

Dynamic braking is a standard function on all MCL 24V DC drives. Other standard functions include variable ramp up acceleration to speed and ramp down. All cards come out standard as either PNP or NPN control logic but have the ability to be swapped over from one to the other if the situation demands.

If there is a requirement to slave drive other rollers, MCL can groove the tubes to transmit drive, and also offer two drive head styles as options. All options offer different characteristics depending on application.  The Round Belt drive head gives cost effective transmission of medium duty drive and the Poly-V drive head offers heavy duty drive functionality.

The low profile motorised roller brings many benefits such as a safety with its low operating voltage of 24V DC, which is a common voltage that can be standardized in facilities throughout the world. With a capability of up to 1800 starts per hour and a life in excess of 15,000 hours, MCL 24V DC drives offer reduced power consumption, less wearing parts and minimum downtime.

The rollers are available individually or within a conveyor, and MCL has developed a range of products to further complement and utilise this effective driven roller.

MCL assembles the rollers locally and manufacture widths and drive mediums to suit individual requirements. MCL 24V DC rollers have many uses and have been successfully installed in diverse applications such as transfer rollers, carton conveyors, pedestrian gates, speed up sections, and zero pressure accumulating conveyors.
