Universal Plastics is a major supplier of machined engineering plastic components – bushes, bearings, gears, sprockets, pulleys, wear pads etc, and semi-finished engineering plastic materials in rod, sheet and tube. They have been successfully playing their role in New Zealand industry for 15 years with a vast range of materials such as Nylon, Acetal, PETP, PTFE, UHMWPE and Phenolic grades.
The company is moving to a brand new purpose built facility at No 9 Levene Place Mount Wellington. They will be fully operational there from the 1st of June.
This new venture is a 2500 square meter office, warehouse and machine shop complex which will enable Universal Plastics to increase their stock holding and machining capabilities, ensuring their quality strategies and service levels are in place for years to come.They also have branches in Christchurch and Dunedin.
A brand new 5-axis SCM Router is to be added to the already impressive machine range. This will compliment the existing 3-axis SCM Router. This new machine should be operational in about 3 week’s time at the new premises. Both machines have vacuum beds with a 3000mm x 1500mm capacity. Another new Maximart milling machine will also be added to the milling department.
This is a vital step for Universal Plastics which services the industry with technology driven engineered plastic products.
